@PaulVicaryfishing ta Paul, in my youth I spent a lot of time on the Eden and Medway, it's good to see how those rivers have changed over time, glad they are still productive as our rivers are having a hard time. The management of the catchment areas is critical and there are some good custodians out there.
One of my favourite river's. Had a ticket for the other bank. Done well there. All them swims are good spots. It's just a shame the barbel haven't been stocked more upstream. Above hever 🎣
I would recommend you use boilies mainly because they don’t come off, also wrap your chosen boilie in matching paste. I’ve fished the upper Medway extensively used this method, dusk also used be the witching hour.sticky baits krill works well
Thanks for watching. Good tip and I did get the small one on rolling meat. When you're on them, you catch them quite quickly. Just got to find them! Tight lines.
Campbells meatballs - washed then glugged - they're huge, yeah, and they work hair-rigged on braid - try coarse grated spam in a PVA mesh with the pellets... enjoy!
Good job u didn't hook a double figured barbel on that rod m8. Set your station 20/30/40yrd upstream from your intended snag, this way u won't lose 1 when u hook1👍 Plus you'll get more satisfaction knowing ur a good angler rather than a desperate1 😂 if u draw the chub out 1st it won't spook the barbel as there most likely to still be in the snags... I see careless angling all the time please don't encourage people to fish snags... 1 of a few Un written rules of good barbel angling sir 🧐 my dad tough me this when I was a young barbelstar.
Thanks for the wise words, I'm confident in my set up but your insightful words of caution will have play on my judgement next time I'm down there. Tight lines.
Great to see the barbel, are they breeding there, or has there been stocking? Really enjoy the videos!😊
Thanks for watching.
100% home breed, there all different type age groups. They seem to spawn successfully each year, but just bloody hard to locate.

Thanks for watching.
Fingers crossed.

Hi @barryingram31 i have seen a photo of a double figure Barbel from below Lingfield from a few years ago, probably an escape from Beaver.
@PaulVicaryfishing could be. I've heard story's but I haven't seen any evidence yet.

If I can only fish 1 hour, dusk would be that hour.

Try rolling meat Paul .. they may not like a static bait 👍🎣🎣

Hey Paul, what are the two rod's you're using around 30 seconds into the video out of curiosity? Thanks in advance.
